SOME LITTLE KNOW THINGS ABOUT
Matt had the honour of Lee Ridley (aka Lost Voice Guy) using one of his jokes for his BGT winning performance.
Matt had the idea of a closing gag for Lee after watching his earlier performances, so got in touch with him and
explained the joke. Lee loved it, used it and won the 2018 Britain's Got Talent final (and £250,000).
*Its the penultimate joke about voting for himself
In 2010 my very own movie was released in cinemas...
THE SHOUTING MEN was written and produced by me and my friend Warren Llambias. Two mates that set out to try and create their own work. Little did we know that we would end up on our very own red carpet premiere in London's Leicester Square.
The idea of The Shouting Men came over a few beers in Wimbledon Village. We wanted to write a TV series about lower league football fans travelling around the country, watching their dismal team. The TV sit-com was eventually picked up by ITV. The only problem was, we'd made a pact to not sell the show unless we were in it! ITV refused. SO we raised half a million pounds and re-wrote the series into a feature film. And here it is!
On August 16th 2017, I had one of the most incredible, theatrical and magical nights of my life, watching a show that I had co-written with my friend Elio Pace. It was designed to be a ONE-OFF concert celebrating the 40th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. The SELL-OUT night at the stunning Capitol Theatre, was so well received that the show went on two successful, national theatre tours of the UK.
ELIO PACE presents ELVIS PRESLEY is an Elvis tribute like no other.
Just Elio Pace on piano and vocals, and Steve Rushton on drums and percussion. Exploring the music of Elvis Presley and highlighting some of the key moments in his golden career. Tears, cheers and three standing ovations!!!
The world premier evening was filmed on three cameras and I took the reins on directing and edited the concert into a concert movie. I did my best to keep a tight hold of the magic and atmosphere that was in the theatre that night, as well as showcasing two of the most unbelievably talented people in Elio and Steve.
I also had the daunting yet spine tingling task of honouring my hero, Elvis Presley.
Not only that I was nominated for the BEST DIRECTOR at the Independent Music Awards in New York.
